Project Coordinator - Full Time

Perry Building Contractors (PBC) is seeking a full-time Construction Project Coordinator, that is looking for long term career and growth opportunities.

Job Summary

The Construction Project Coordinator works under the guidance of the Vice President Development Services and plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of all our construction projects from concept to completion. This individual will provide essential administrative and organizational support to Senior Leadership and the Project Management Team. This is a unique position focusing heavily on project estimating but will also help with project coordination and project management, as necessary.


Project Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Project Management Team and Senior Leadership with project planning, bidding, scheduling, and budget management.
  2. Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and proposals for all construction projects.
  3. Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain pricing and bid information.
  4. Evaluate and compare bids and proposals to make educated informed recommendations.
  5. Keep abreast of market trends and pricing fluctuations in the construction industry.
  6. Proactively pursue additional relationship with subcontractors. Maintains current and accurate subcontractor /supplier prospective bidder database.
  7. Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project profit.


Secondary Job Responsibilities: 


  1. Coordinate and communicate project updates to internal and external stakeholders. project specifications and drawings to determine material, labor, and subcontractor requirements.
  2. Participate in post bid discussions and negotiations with project partners to maximize project profit.
  3. Coordinate and communicate project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Assist in preparing, tracking, and managing project documentation, contracts, financial records and permits.
  5. Assist the Project Management Team with monitoring and reporting of project progress, identifying potential issues or delays.
  6. Support safety and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  7. Collaborate with the Project Management Team to resolve issues and ensure the project’s timely completion.
  8. Assist with project closeout activities, including punch lists, client’s closeout requirements, and client handover.

Project Coordinator Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Associates or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field is preferred or equivalent work experience
  2. Proven experience in commercial construction project coordination, management, and estimating
  3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and practices
  4. Proficiency in construction management software and tools 
  5. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  6. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities
  7. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
  8. Knowledge of relevant building codes, best practices, and safety regulations (preferred)
  9. Ability to work well within a team and independently
  10. Aptitude for process improvement and change management
  11. Bi-lingual in Spanish (preferred)
  12. Team-player with ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and build relationships with team members, trades, and customers 
  13. Strong work ethic 
  14. Some travel required
